About Wasted State Music

Wasted State traces its roots back to 2006, when Toni Martone, inspired by his three year stint working in music retail, decided that putting out records would be a good idea. It could be said that a brief foray into gig promoting in 2004 was the start, but we’ll gloss over that short lived endeavor! Over the past 25 years, Toni has also managed a venue and worked as a live engineer for countless bands.

During this time, the music industry has changed in ways that were thought as science fiction back in 2001, when the record shop he was working in had a Mini Disc section that many saw to be the future of recorded music. Then the iPod came along.

As well as working on over 40 releases on his own label, and partnering in two others, Toni has consulted for other labels and publishers and has accidentally become an expert in music royalties and licensing. Combining this with an unhealthy appetite and knowledge of computer games (and their development) and to address changes and a lack of parity for artists and musicians on the royalties front, the long pondered future of Wasted State has been shifted to giving transparent services to musicians, labels, publishers, producers and developers.

The Services page outlines the core offering of what Wasted State Music specialises in, but if you have a project that requires something a little different, feel free to get in touch. Every artist and project is different and requirements can change and morph as things progress. These aren’t one size fits all services, it’s a basis for working with a company that can adapt and adjust as your project does.
