Common Grounds Records was set up by producer and studio owner Graeme Young in 2019. Shortly after, they released Crow Hill by Meursault.

Marking a new chapter in Meursault’s recording career, Crow Hill sees Edinburgh’s Neil Scott Pennycook makea move into the world of fiction with a collection of ‘urban horror’ vignettes set to music, with each song telling the story of a particular inhabitant of the titular town.

Shortlisted for the 2017 Scottish Album of The Year Award, this re-press sees the start of Meursault’s back catalogue finding its new home with Common Grounds Records.

Incorporating angular guitar riffs, home-made synths and satirical lyrics, ‘Made in China’ was written, and in the most part, recorded in Chongqing, China in 2020, just as the world descended into the depths of the Pandemic.
